I watched X-MEN:First Class last night. I must say that it was a vast improvement over X3 and X-MEN ORIGINS:Wolverine combined. I liked how Vaughn retained the look and feel of the original Singer films while creating his own vision, and loved the character cameos. Makes me wonder how different a film X3 might have been if Michael Vaughn hadn't had to drop out of directing because of commitment issues.

Past few weeks I've watched:
"Blue Valentine" - Loved this flick. "Going The Distance" - A raunchy rom-com. I liked it. A few laugh-out-loud moments. A breath of fresh air from the usual Kate Hudson flicks. "The Social Network" - I didn't think I was gonna like this (which is why I waited so long to give it a shot) but I really enjoyed it. "Jack Goes Boating" - Idk, I thought this was a snooze fest. Found everything about it boring. The Australian shark flick "The Reef" - It wasn't bad for what it was. It's pretty much "Open Water" with a Great White.

Rango. The extended version is pretty good! Alot of people didn't like Rango...I loved it..thought it was EXCELLENT! I can see how little kids didn't like it, but I thought it was very well done.

My son enjoyed it...not as much as Kung Fu Panda 2, but I can see why. I enjoyed the hell out of it. All the subtle and not so subtle references strewn through is great. When the main theme started I just laughed. My wife asked me why and I told her, "YOU SHOULD WATCH DJANGO!!!"

I watched TRANSFORMERS:DARK OF THE MOON last night. A really good popcorn film. Probably the best of the series yet. Several of the plot points from this one are taken directly from the original series. Got a real kick out of hearing Leonard Nimoy as Sentinal Prime. This makes two Transformers films he's done now. Also laughed my ass off at the Spock reference they slipped in. That's not to say the film didn't have some weak moments. I really think Bay should have focused this one more on the Transformers themselves as many of the scenes with Sam seemed unnecessary and slowed the pacing some. But despite that, it's definitely worth seeing.

I guess that's good considering that the 2nd one was pretty much bashed across the board. I'm still going to wait for the Blu to see this.
