I'm going to be honest, and say that I was never a big TREK fan. I know the original show very well, and the subsequent movies, but didn't follow any of the spawn shows and such. The TV show was ok, but I just didn't feel what others felt. Then came this movie....had a few people I know tell me they went to see it right away and it was great etc.....I paid no attention. Then it came out on DVD, and one night, I said....."OK, lets watch this thing so I can be turned off even further". As soon as it ended, I committed to buying it the very next day. This was one of my favorite movies in a long time, and I can't wait for the sequel........these actors did a fantastic job playing the characters. All the little things......awesome! Loved Chris Pine as Kirk......he really made me think of a young version at times......hard to believe this kid is the son of Robert Pine ( guy who played the captain on CHiPS). This was just a damn fun movie for me.

I couldn't agree more. This one ranks up there as one of my favorite Trek movies of all time. Wrath, Voyage and First Contact probably right above it.
